The Defeat Diabetes Foundation is an organization with passion and commitment that was founded 25 years ago. The organization tries to help others avoid developing type 2 diabetes. This is a 501(C) 3 non-profit charity that it’s continuing to serve 29.1 million diabetics in the United States and 86 million pre-diabetics. The Defeat Diabetes Foundation was founded to conduct programs to help families be more aware of Type 2 diabetes. They have several different programs that reach out to the public. The foundations have leading groups which include Kid Initiative to Defeat Diabetes (KIDD), KIDD School Screening Test Program, Medical Supplies Program, and Pet Diabetes Awareness.

The American Diabetes Association is a non-profit site that is devoted to diabetes education, advocacy, and research.  They were founded in 1940, and conducts programs in all 50 states reaching out to hundreds of communities. This site has a message board for individuals with diabetes and for those who have been recently diagnosed.  Other boards on this website focus on diet, exercise, and the latest diabetes news.   People can order from ADA’s extensive publications to listen to or join live question-and-answer sessions with diabetes experts.

Joslin Diabetes is one of the world’s leading institutions in Diabetes care, research, and education.  With more than 300 scientist, trying to find a pathway to prevent, treat, and cure type 1 and 2 diabetes and their complications. This site has a free link to the calorieking downloadable tool bar and a calorie counting guide.  Also, this site has four online diabetes classes that can be taken or even text-based courses when joining the online learning center.
